I used ace bandage and covered her right unaffected hand with it, making sure its in a fist, and then I covered the ace bandage with a long sock.
I would just restrict the “good” “unaffected “ whichever you prefer hand and let her use lefty. I used a kitchen timer, i used to set it up for half hr and when it beeps, she can take the Constraint out. Slowly I increased the time to 4-5 hrs.
It wasn’t easy, but it was so helpful. I can definitely see more improvement and a lot of tolerance for CIMT once the cast arrived.
Young brain is very elastic and can make new neurons faster.
Start them young I say!
I dont think CIMT would work in someone whose all 4 limbs are affected. Honestly I think it would depend on how much the child is able to use his limbs and PT/OT are best shot
Hi swati, but what to do if all 4 limbs are affected?
